A Northwest College student was seriously injured Tuesday evening when he fell out of the back of a moving pickup truck. He was flown to Billings by helicopter and remained hospitalized as of Thursday, said Sean Fox, NWC's vice president for student services.
The student's name was not disclosed.
“I talked with the young man’s parents this afternoon,” Fox told NWC faculty and staff in an email Wednesday. “Because his nose and sinus cavity have been crushed, the doctors are most concerned about infection, which could spread to the brain.”
The student’s parents were with him at the hospital on Thursday. He may not be able to return to classes this semester because of his injuries and the needed recovery time, Fox said.
