Evidence at the scene indicates the vehicle skidded to the left on the gravel road, skidded to the right, then back to the left before entering a broadside slide and going off the road onto the left, according to the Highway Patrol release. Nave is believed to have then over-corrected to the right, which caused the vehicle to roll one complete time, the release said. The truck came to a stop in a ditch on the west side of the road.
The crash, which occurred around 12:15 p.m., necessitated the temporary closure of Road 7 near its intersection with Lane 11.
"Upon completion of the crash investigation all information will be turned over to the Park County Attorney’s Office for their review," said the release. "That office will make the final determination as to the filing of any criminal charges as a result of this crash."
Editor's note: This version corrects that the crash was east, not west, of Powell. It also corrects Nave's age, incorrectly stated by the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
