PHS sweeps Lovell to improve to 12-1

Each set took a little longer — each result was the same.

The Powell High School volleyball team allowed Lovell to push a little further into each game Tuesday, but the end result still favored PHS in a 25-16, 25-18, 25-20 home-opening 3A West Conference victory over the Bulldogs.

School district land sold for $285,000, will become orthodontics office 

The Powell school district’s old pool/auditorium property was worth more than a quarter million dollars, an auction determined Tuesday night.

It took just five minutes for the value to rise to $285,000. Four bidders quickly drove the price up nearly $150,000 from the opening bid of $136,000.

Couple weds at drive-in theater 

The smell of popcorn was in the air, their names were on the marquee and Adam Sandler was crooning as Jordan Jansson and James Comer were joined in wedlock.

The rain had slackened off and the skies were clearing, allowing the American Dream Drive-in to show Sandler’s movie, “The Wedding Singer,” during the couple’s reception. Yes, this was not your typical marriage.
