Races for the Park County sheriff, Wyoming Legislature, Park County Commission and governor have received a lot of attention in recent months leading up to the primary election. In fact, many of those positions likely will be decided today (Tuesday).

Positions will be open on boards that oversee the local school, college, hospital, fire, cemetery and conservation districts.
Leaders who serve on these boards make significant decisions that affect our community in many ways. If you’re interested in making a difference, this is your chance.
Serving on a local board can be difficult, time-consuming and oftentimes thankless. We know it’s not an easy decision to step forward to serve in this way.
However, we also know that Powell is home to many people who have talents and skills to offer, and we hope they step forward to serve on these important local boards.
With some incumbents deciding not to seek re-election, it’s guaranteed that the boards for Park County School District No. 1, the Powell Hospital District and the Northwest College District will welcome at least one new member.
It could be you.
