Powell High School seniors Drew Feller and Vince Sleep added additional highlights to their final spring in Panther uniforms. Feller was named the Wyoming Spirit of Sport award winner at the state track championships last weekend.

Full-strength team plays four against Angels
After a two-week layoff, the Powell Pioneers American Legion baseball team returns to the diamond this weekend for a pair of doubleheaders against the Billings Angels. Saturday’s games will take place in Billings while the Sunday games are held in Powell.

Boys team fourth overall
The Powell girls placed third and the boys fourth following a weekend of gritty performances at the 2013 state track and field championships in Casper. The Panthers crowned state champions in four events and had the state runner-up in six more events.

Panther boys ousted at state soccer to end year
Powell loses to Lander, Worland
The Powell Panthers wrapped up a 4-14 season on the soccer pitch with losses to Lander and Worland at the 3A state boys’ soccer tournament in Jackson over the weekend. The Panthers dropped a 3-0 opening-round decision to Lander and followed in a Friday elimination game with a 2-1 loss to fellow Northwest quadrant foe, Worland.
