Since they believe the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem (GYE) grizzly bear population recovered, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is considering a proposal to remove the bear from the endangered species list.

Wyoming landowners may have the opportunity to aid in black-footed ferrets’ recovery without risk of repercussions if one of the endangered ferrets reintroduced on their property is inadvertently killed or injured.

Elk Basin turned 100 this year. Millions upon millions of years ago, Elk Basin was inhabited by prehistoric animals; then much later, Native Americans, and not so long ago, people extracting oil established a community of hardy inhabitants.

Though it has grown and is not contained, the Spruce Fire in Yellowstone National Park is benefitting the forest in its isolated location, according to the National Park Service.

The new rig is even burlier than the old brush trucks the Powell Volunteer Fire Department now deploys.

The Shoshone River below Buffalo Bill Dam is anything but tame and that unbridled wildness inspired the river festival.

It was the third annual Cody Wild West River Fest over the weekend in Cody.
