What a difference two weeks can make.

Taking big strides from their season-opening home tournament, the Powell High School boys’ golf team went to Lander last week and fared 110 shots better.

On second thought, a Powell man decided he was OK with a three- to five-year prison sentence.

In late July, Daniel Anderson backed out of a deal with the Park County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office that called for him to serve prison time on a felony count of possessing methamphetamine with intent to deliver.

After nearly four years of denials, former Powell Police Officer Kirk Chapman has acknowledged that he sexually assaulted a woman while on duty in September 2011.

Chapman made the acknowledgement at a brief, unremarkable hearing in Park County’s District Court on Monday afternoon.

One of the most rapidly growing businesses in the United States can be found right here in Park County.

Cody police say a man used a knife to stab his roommate, threaten two other people and damage some furniture on Wednesday night.

Plenty of new faces will hit the court this week as the Powell High School tennis teams play their first matches of the year.

Half of the boys’ eight players are new to the varsity level, as are six members of the girls squad.

A Cody teacher was arrested Monday on allegations that — while she was a teacher in Douglas in late 2013 and early 2014 — she had sex with a 17-year-old high school student.

Hosting your own tournament to start the golf season comes with some perks — like being able to give a whole bunch of players some immediate experience.

Park County Prosecuting Attorney Bryan Skoric says he’s seeking a sentence of life in prison — and not the death penalty — for a woman charged with participating in a plot to murder her boyfriend in 2014.

Several dozen members of Sunlight Federal Credit Union had money temporarily siphoned from their accounts by out-of-state criminals last week. The credit union — which has locations in Powell, Cody, Worland and Sheridan — took the precautionary step of reissuing all of its members’ debit cards in response.
