Man was convicted of kidnapping, sexually assaulting Cody child

A judge has declined to reduce the sentence of a Montana man who kidnapped and raped a 10-year-old girl in Cody in 2012.

A fast response from local search and rescue personnel may have saved the lives of a Powell couple on Tuesday, the Park County Sheriff's Office says.

Chapman made the acknowledgement at a brief, unremarkable hearing in Park County’s District Court on Monday afternoon.

Cody police say a man used a knife to stab his roommate, threaten two other people and damage some furniture on Wednesday night.
