EDITORIAL: In search of a federal budget
For the first time since 2009, both houses of Congress have passed budget resolutions.
Now that sounds cockeyed, but it’s true. The United States Senate had not passed a budget in four years until last week. Prodded by “No Budget, No Pay” directive, both the U.S. House and the U.S. Senate passed non-binding budget resolutions.

If the first week in office is any indication, it’s going to be a whirlwind year for Scott George, president of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.
George took office as head of the beef industry trade association Feb. 9 in Tampa, Fla. Before he returned home to his Heart Mountain farm and ranch operation at mid-week, he had visited with cattle industry groups in Kentucky, Louisiana, Virginia and Florida. With only a brief stopover, he was on the go again for a weekend face-to-face with cattlemen in Wisconsin.

EDITORIAL: Saying goodbye to Peg Shreve
Wyoming’s entire congressional delegation was in attendance at memorial services for Peggy June Adams Shreve in Cody Friday, a telling tribute to a pioneer legislator in Park County. Peg Shreve died Oct. 27, 2012, in Cody at the age of 85.
