Citing his work in teaching and guiding Northwest College students and his extensive efforts on the NWC campus, the Wyoming Department of Education named Allan Childs of Powell a STEM Educator of the Year.
Once again, a federal judge in Washington, D.C., has returned wolves in Wyoming to the Endangered Species List.
U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson ruled that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service was wrong to trust nonbinding promises from the state of Wyoming to maintain at least 100 wolves, including 10 breeding pairs, outside of Yellowstone and the Wind River Indian Reservation, according to The Associated Press.
Thanks to an endowment in her honor, Helena De Fina’s work will continue long into the future, despite her untimely death in January.
De Fina devoted much of her life to preventing addictions and alcohol abuse among youth and promoting wellness in Park County communities, and her friends and her husband are working to make sure that legacy lives on.
