Arthur “Bud” Edwin Cook died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012. He was 80 years old.

Bud was born Dec. 5, 1931, in Yates Center, Kan., to John W. and Minnie Mae (Pyle) Cook. He attended school in Yates Center, Kan.

Paul Meredith Jacobs Jr. died on the afternoon of Dec. 1, 2012 at Powell Valley Care Center. He was 79.

Paul was born Jan. 4, 1933 in Williamsport, Pa., to Paul Meredith Sr. and Hazel I (Towers) Jacobs.

A Tuesday morning outage left thousands of residences and businesses across Park County without power for nearly an hour.

The Western Area Power Administration outage occured at around 10:40 a.m.

The City of Cody reported that a tree fell on a main transmission feed near Lovell. Power was restored to some areas at around 11:30 a.m.

Twenty-two applicants received by deadline

Northwest College is set to begin evaluating presidential applications to select semi-finalists who will be interviewed via video later in December.

Northwest launched the nationwide search this fall to replace President Paul Prestwich, who will leave at the end of the 2012-13 academic year. Nominations and applications will be accepted until the position is filled; however, the deadline for full consideration was Friday, Nov. 30.

Arthur Edwin Cook, 80, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at the Powell Valley Healthcare.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel.

Paul M. Jacobs, 79, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at the Powell Valley Care Center.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. at The First Southern Baptist Church.

Elizabeth Almeida died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012 at the Powell Valley Care Center. She was 92.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter Julie Pilgrim and son-in-law Bill Pilgrim of Clark; and two grandsons, Joby Young of Washington, D.C. and James Young of Houston, Texas.

A private family funeral service will be held.

Harvey Herman Wagner, 84, of Powell died peacefully on Nov. 28, 2012 at New Horizons Care Center in Lovell.

Harvey was born Aug. 4, 1928 in Deaver to John and Elvina Wagner. He was the seventh of 12 children. As a family, they enjoyed picnics in their backyard and the mountains, putting puzzles together and large family gatherings during holidays.

Mary Nielsen of Cody died peacefully at Spirit Mountain Hospice House on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012. She was 94.

Stephen Edward Cole was born in the “old hospital” in Powell on April 18, 1947. His mother grew up in Powell and returned there to birth her first son because there was no hospital in Riverton. Steve and his wife, Maurine Hinckley-Cole, retired to Powell in May 2012. He died of heart failure in the “new” Powell hospital on Nov. 25, 2012, with his wife and son by his side. He was 65.
