Damaged roadways due to heavy rainfall will slow down local traffic after cracks appeared in Wyoming 296 last week. The damage is near Northwest College's A.L. Mickelson Field Station, and Wyoming Department of Transportation officials are monitoring the situation northwest of Cody.

Vivian Lorene Beenblossom died in Frannie on May 20, 2015. She was born to Max Mohr and Gayle Rulifson in Long Beach, California, on June 26, 1941.

Walter Duane Seeley, Sr. died in his home in Powell on the afternoon of May 26, 2015. He was 83.

Shawn L. Younglove, 49, died early in the morning of May 18, 2015, at home after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Father John Wright died in Powell, on Saturday, May 23, 2015. He was born John Anthony Wright, the adoptive son of Fred and Pauline (Gilmore) Wright, in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Nov. 25, 1931.

Wet conditions have triggered a series of mud and rock slides in the Wind River Canyon and have closed the road.

Authorities made the decision to close U.S. Highway 20 through the Canyon on Sunday night and it remained closed on Memorial Day. The highway is expected to remain closed until at least Tuesday, according to a Monday afternoon post on the Thermopolis 911 Communications Center's Facebook page.
