Miriam D. Anderson (McCoy), 96, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013 at West Park Hospital Long Term Care Center in Cody. Her son, whom she had been staying with, was by her side when she died.

Frances L. Marks, 93, of Cody, died Jan. 15, 2013 at West Park Hospital Long Term Care Center in Cody.

Frances was born Jan. 26, 1919 in Belleview, Mich., to Melvin and Margaret Mosher. She graduated from James Whitcomb Riley High School and was a nursing graduate of Epworth Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Ind.

Elmer Roy Eggebrecht, 79, of Oak Harbor,Wash., died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 in Kingman, Ariz., Regional Hospital after a short illness.

Elmer was born May 28, 1933 in Vida, Mont., to William Eggebrecht and Ida Knopp Eggebrecht. He was schooled in Powell for 11 1/2 years, where he played football and was instrumental in initiating heavyweight wrestling, taking the state championship. He graduated in Othello, Wash., where he took top honors in wrestling and later placed in the Sports Hall of Fame for that state.

Park County offers nothing new

Powell City Councilmen will consider Monday whether to haul the city’s household trash to Cowley — which is offering a $78 per ton rate — or go to Cody for $90 per ton.

The two counties’ rate proposals were unsealed Tuesday at Powell City Hall. Big Horn County’s rate is $12 a ton cheaper than the $90 they have been charging their residents, while Park County commissioners chose to offer Powell no discounts, providing only a list of current rates.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Jan. 18 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Powell for Nancy Milliken Bonner, 96, who died Jan. 12 at the Powell Valley Care Center.

Father Ron Lytle will officiate at services and burial in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Deanna Ruth Walker died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at the age of 50, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Deanna was born May 5, 1962 in Great Falls, Mont., to Bud and Nita Bronkema. She moved to Lovell with her family in 1963 when her dad took a job at the Radar Site. She graduated from Lovell High School in 1980 and attended two years of college. She married Steve Green and they had two sons, Stephen Casey in 1982 and Thomas Jeffrey in 1984. They later divorced.

Robert McKay, 81, of Powell, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 in Powell.

Robert was born in Nebraska City, Neb. on March 4, 1931 to Martha (Smith) and Clifford McKay.

Nancy Milliken Bonner, a 72-year resident of Powell, died Saturday night, Jan. 12 at the Powell Valley Care Center. She was 96.

She had been a resident of the nursing home for two years. Her death came within three weeks of her 97th birthday.

Laura E. Cude, 49, formerly of Powell, died at her home Wednesday, Jan. 9 in Foresthill, Calif., after a lengthy illness. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend to many.

In memory of a life so beautifully lived, a heart so deeply loved.

Velma A. Biddle was born on August 8, 1909 at the family farm in Trumbull, Nebraska to Arthur and Elsie Biddle. She died on January 3, 2013 at age 103 in Ft. Collins, Colorado.
