Tyler Ouellette nets 3 for panthers in season-opener  

The Wyoming winds were blowing hard as the PHS boys’ soccer team blew out the Pinedale Wranglers 7-0 Saturday afternoon in the Panthers’ season opener.

Tyler Ouellette notched a hat trick, Ty Herd scored twice, and Trey Ouellette and Heston Swenson each had a goal in the one-sided game.

A coaching rules violation forced the Powell Panthers girls’ soccer team to forfeit its season-opening 3-2 overtime win against Pinedale.

Head coach Isaac Reyesmejia, who was officially hired on March 11, did not pass a 100-question test on rules prior to the season opener played in Powell Saturday morning.

Seniors counted on for additional leadership  

The Powell High School girls’ soccer team will begin the 2014 season, and a new era, Saturday with more questions than answers.

The 2014 Powell High School boys’ soccer team won’t much resemble last year’s version, and that might be a good thing.

The Panthers struggled to find the back of the net in a 2013 campaign that saw them go 4-14 overall and 0-4 in their division.
