The Powell Panthers placed 17 wrestlers in the top six of their weight classes over the weekend to successfully defend the team title in the Powell Roundtable invitational wrestling tournament. Junior Zach Thompson (195) and freshman Chance Karst (113) each finished as tournament champions with their weight divisions.

The Northwest College Trapper women’s basketball team survived nearly three scoreless minutes at the close of Saturday’s game against No. 12 Salt Lake Community College, but managed to hold on for a 60-59 victory. The win, combined with an earlier tournament loss to Utah State-Eastern, leaves the Trapper ladies with a 4-4 record for the season.

Team also rolls past all-stars
Andressa Augusto calmly sank a pair of free throws with seconds remaining Friday night to help the Northwest College Trappers avenge an earlier loss to Williston State College, 65-64. The Trappers also defeated the Northwest All-Stars 67-19 over the weekend.
