Candidates line up at state, county and municipal levels

Wyoming’s 2012 campaign season is officially under way.
The filing period opens today (Thursday) for candidates seeking Wyoming’s national, state, county and municipal offices. Candidates who want to be on the Aug. 21 primary election ballot have from now until June 1 to file.

Kenneth ‘Kenny’ Eugene Van Norman died peacefully in his home Friday, May 4, 2012. He was 71. 
Kenny was born July 21, 1940 in Lusk to Jack and Ethel (Martin) Van Norman. He was the youngest of five children. His family lived in Midwest, Edgerton, and he graduated in Buffalo in the spring of 1958. Kenny finished college in 1961 in Casper.

Jerald “Jerry” Ray Posey, 71, died suddenly May 13, 2012, one day after celebrating his 71st birthday.
Jerry was born May 12, 1941 in Isabella, Okla., to George and Virginia Posey. He left shortly after graduating from Okeene High School in 1958 with his best friend, Verlin Greb.

Dianne King Kousoulos, 77, of Cody died peacefully May 11, 2012 surrounded by her family at West Park Hospital.

Georginia Smith, 65, of Cody, died at her home on Saturday, May 12, 2012.
God answered Georginia’s prayer to go to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. During her final days at her home, she frequently voiced her desire to be rid of her painful earthly body and to receive her new pain-free heavenly body.

Longtime Powell area resident, Raymond John Bessler, died Sunday, May 13 at the Powell Valley Care Center. He was 83.

Nancy Hopkin Smith died May 10, 2012. She was 70.
Nancy was the first born child of Fredrick Wilson Hopkin and Dorcas Lea Waltman, born on Sept. 11, 1941, in Powell.

Raymond John Bessler, 83, died Sunday, May 13, 2012, at the Powell Valley Care Center.
Memorial services will be held Friday, May 18, 2012 at the St. Barbara’s Catholic Church, 115 E 3rd St. at 10 a.m.

Olivia Paige Schlaht died April 23, 2012, in Tampa, Fla.
She was born April 23, 2012 and weighed 6 pounds, 1 ounce, and measured 19 inches.

Barbara Ann Eskew Fisher died Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the Powell Valley Care Center in Powell. An avid genealogist, she lived 82 years, 4 months and 28 days.
She was born to Mildred (Mickey) and Robert Eskew, in Waco, Texas, on Dec. 15, 1929.
